MCT:August 13, 2008This movie is as beautiful as a fairy tale. A sincere storyline, miraculous scenes, and phenomenal performances from Keanu Reeves and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón made this one of my favorite romantic movies of all the time.
This movie is right up there with The Terminal and Meet Joe Black.
A must-see for all couples in love. -

The acting, such as it is...
The story, all to tidy - like a department store wrapped christmas present.
Cinematography - rather obviously doctored to add the sense of extra cheese.
On retrospective thought the film seemed even less worth while than it has while watching it.. Very inoffensive though. -

Holy Crap. How many times I tried to watch this Movie, but already yawned after like 20 minutes. I heard alot great things about this Movie, and I m one of Keanue Fans. But Movies like these are not my thingy, or maybe this Movie was a bit chick cheesy. lol

After returning from the war, Paul and a young woman meet on a bus as she's headed home from college to help with the grape harvest and face her Old World domineering dad. The woman has not married but is pregnant and she thinks her father is going to kill her. Paul proposes to pose as her husband to help her face her father. When their passion for each other is finally ignited and explodes, they realize they must overcome all odds to be together.

This movie is definatly worth watching. It's obviously for the hopeless-romantic, and a little on the typical predictable side... but it's good. The actors are awesome, the storyline is a great idea, and it keeps you interested all the way through. What seems like a simple movie, will turn out to be a real classic for those who watch it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film! I thought that Keanu Reeves gave an excellent performance as the quiet yet dependable hero. The lead actress, Aitana Sanchez-Gijon, was extremely good as well. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two of them. If you are a romantic you will love this movie.

Keanu Reeves was made for this role! I'm sure he was born and when his parents saw him they were like "He's going to be chosen for A walk in the clouds". I mean come on, the dude's as dreamy as Cumulo Nimbus'!
The reason most people have never heard of this romance is probably because there is no sex (oh surprise surprise!). After all, as i like to point out: "Sex sells". And oh boy, this could've been a block-buster if only both actors stripped down and showed us what passion really is.
If this isn't a love story, i wonder what this is. Furtive glances and stolen kisses comprise most of this Ro-drama which also has some comedic scenes. The father reminds me of Robert De niro in Meet the parents, and you know, you have the usual mother who likes the guy, but the father doesn't approve. Blablahblah. It's a story as old as Adam and Eve.
Forget The notebook (way too sappy) and The prince and me (too unrealistic), and rent this! It's a nice waste of 1h30mins of your life - serious!
Only deception: no 40s music! :( -

There's some questionable acting by Keanu, but the female lead and the movie's setting are so beautiful that it is definitely worth watching on a lazy afternoon.
